Kesugi Ridge in Alaska, the best hike I’ve ever done

This trail — which covers 30 miles of very diverse interior Alaskan terrain — lies across the highway from Denali National Park in Denali State Park. (As in much of the U.S., some of the greatest natural beauty on offer in Alaska can be found in state parks.) If you’re lucky enough, cloud breaks lead to absolutely stunning views of Denali itself.
