
I’m not a big fan of Belgian waffles — I like them on the toastier end of the spectrum. Norwegian waffles deliver what I’m looking for: thin and crispy in spades.
Haralds Vaffel — named after Norway’s current king, a goofy cartoon of whom is the place’s mascot — in Oslo is a great place to get the real deal, but I’ve bought a suitable waffle iron and am working on honing my craft, too. (Haralds kindly offers a recipe, albeit in Norwegian, on their website.)
