I randomly tried this a few weeks ago and adored it. Really compelling characters (some of whom don’t always show up in the best light! Looking at you, Ma), and remarkably savvy maneuvering by the showrunner to reframe the story from a more politically complex, radically empathetic (albeit perhaps not accurate to the real-life Ingalls’ attitudes, but whatever - after all, the original books are fictionalized accounts, too) point of view. In particular, the treaty-signing (penultimate) episode is something I honestly think *every* American should watch. I’ve never seen anything like that captured on film, and it was beautiful and heartbreaking and inspiring all at once.
